Gareth
Wheatley secured a share of the points for the
"Town" with a cheeky over head lob
five minutes from time. In gale force conditions
both teams struggled with the wind playing a
major part in the game. Heath Hayes' Andrew
Tuck opened the scoring for the home side on
37 minutes, but Wheatley with his back to the
keeper on the edge of the box, surprised everyone
when his over head lob flew high over the reach
of Hayes keeper Karl Ward into the back of the
net. In stoppage time a Pete Wood free kick
flew high of the Hayes defence and fell to John
Raeburn who struck the post.
